Hey! I'm going to make this blog semi-worthwhile... I don't usually feel like reflecting on my own life.... I had a thought that I could make this a place for my memeythings when they're drafts, before I finish them and upload to tumblr.

So if you follow this blog, you may be getting a sneak peak at them before the rest of the world, and can even offer suggestions... how enthralling... :D

This one needs color & shadow correction but it's appropriate as-is for the start of our TVL reread.

Interesting, too, that this shot is from the last scene of IWTV, where it sets up the VC for a sequel. It implies that the sequel would have BEGUN right there in the car with Lestat & Daniel, Dynamic Duo... what would THAT story have been like?

I'm actually sad we never got more from Danny's POV. I loved his chapters in QotD and I'd loved to have heard more from him. I picture him as getting along with most of the vampires, because he's pretty laid back and loves to listen, but I'd love to hear about it. I was--and still am-- really depressed that all we got about Daniel in TVA was a measly two paragraphs about Armand is bitter and hates him now (Claire and I contend this is because stuff about Daniel felt too personal to share with David, and the world, but I picture Daniel buying--or stealing--the book, and skimming through the entire thing for mention of his name, only to find that, and then send Armand several nasty text messages.)

yeah, same. I kinda would've enjoyed another book from his POV, too. HE'S the journalist after all! One of the major shortcomings in the VC seems to be Mater's habit of getting bored with old characters w/ rich potential (like Daniel) in favor of making brand-new ones with little depth... siiiigh.... I love themoonwithin's fic with Daniel, I think it might even be from his POV, or at least 3rd person, following him throughout, at any rate.

I still think his interactions with Louis would be somewhat awkward, for obvious reasons. Other than that I think he'd get along with everyone else (other than Armand, obviously) pretty well. I have a sort of headcanon that he and Jesse are bff, and your drabbledimanche from a while back helped solidify that idea.

I think your (you and Claire's) theory about the subj. of Daniel being too personal to share with David is accurate. Armand wanted to keep a little mystery about himself, he felt slightly uncomfortable around David anyway.
