And yes, I have to admit I don't think I've ever met anyone whose parents could afford taking them to Paris in lieu of a birthday party. So you are definitely a very lucky girl... Well to be fair, and to clear up any confusion as to my spoilage, we usually had minimal birthday parties, usually family-only, so the trip was more of a "Hey, want a really special once-in-a-lifetime gift?" and was made possible by the lack of real parties before and after.
I didn't know about the strange layout of NOLA houses... I wonder what were the reasons behind it. Ya, I wonder that, too. Certainly not the same in the townhouses, as we saw in the floorplan I found of 1132 Rue Royale.
Also, it would be cool to have a bed so high you needed a ladder to get into it... But then again, I always get up during the night to use the bathroom, so maybe not. LOL. ha ha ha! Well at least Claudia wouldn't have felt like this was yet another slight against her size, since the master bedroom's occupant would have needed a stepstool, too.
