When I read the summary I knew it was something I'd be into--the Cult thing has always fascinated me in a repulsive kind of way. The presentation was perfect, too, 1st person present puts you right in the mind of a girl who, despite being raised in such an insular way (and starting with a traumatic family incident followed by the greater trauma of 9-11) yet still having an instinct (perhaps because of the trauma?) that things were not quite right with her life. It was really skillfully done and I thank you for the rec.
I'm working on a volume of Flannery O'Conner (yay Souther Gothic!) now and should be done by the release of the next volume of Parker's series.
