And someone commented perfectly on it:
"I don't think he looks like Tom Cruise. I think he looks better! it's as if you took the essence of Lestat from Tom and pulled the real Lestat out. He looks as though he's about to say something sarcastic or perhaps become peevish over something. I like that you made him handsome without looking feminine."
Of course, that wasn't enough for me. I had to go find the screen shot that the artist worked from. So you can see the side-by-side comparison. Every revision from the screenshot was a good choice, from the adjustment of his mouth into a slight smile, to the collar being a little more rumpled, smoothing out a few imperfections... just, lovely.

Isn't it wonderful that so many people are still making VC fanart? I used to think it was all dead and gone - but that was before I knew about DeviantArt, Tumblr and such. Speaking of Tumblr... I just found this:

I don't know who did it. It's been reposted a number of times, and I couldn't figure out the artist's name. But I just had to share it. I mean, look at Louis' "limp wrist". They are both playing with fire there, LOL. Seriously - anybody else who'd dare to mock Lestat like this would be incinerated...:D

I am so glad that there is still fanart being generated. How can there not be? I think the global vampire craze is dying down, and fans who embraced the craze (and fans who were there closer to the beginning, like us) are reminded that the really high-quality vampires were the Ricean ones, after all!

Yes, I have seen the "Hyperbole and a Half" adaptation. It's priceless.:D
And I love Armand's expression as he hisses: "cry harder, bitch"...;P If he grinned any wider, the top of his head would fall off...
But I think my eternal favorite is the one about "mad, passionate subtext". You know what I'm talking about... *snickers like a demented old bat on crack*
